Polyester netting
Van Beelen Polyester ‘Supercatch’ netting, made from high quality Performance Fibers polyester. Supercatch is a Polyester capable of replacing Nylon and Polyethylene in nets and ropes. At the same weight per meter it is much stronger than normal Polyesters and even stronger than Nylon. Trawls built from Polyester ‘Supercatch’ have a 10% lower twine diameter than the same trawl in Nylon. This means less drag and lower cost. In fact, it costs less than Nylon! Cold water has no effect on Polyester ‘Supercatch’ so that it can be regarded as a very stable material. Extensive use in cod-ends for many years, proves that ‘Supercatch’ does not shrink.

Supercatch abrasion resistance is much better than that of common Polyesters or Polyethylene.
Van Beelen has been producing netting and ropes from Polyester ‘Supercatch’ since it was first introduced as a ‘Development fibre’, 12 years ago. After testing in our laboratory and trials at sea, we came to the conclusion that this was truly a new strong and stable Polyester.
Since Polyester ‘Supercatch’ netting also reduces towing-resistance, it is many times used in combination with D-Netting made of Dyneema® in the top panels of trawls and ‘Supercatch’ netting in the lower side, more vulnerable to loss or damage.
Van Beelen produces Polyester ‘Supercatch’ braided netting in many twine-sizes, single, double and some even in triple.
Polyester ‘Supercatch’: a safe reliable netting that helps reduce cost and still catches more.
